Shipping policy

SHIPPING
Every bottle of Island Gin begins its journey from our distillery on Great Barrier Island—a remote, off-grid paradise, 4.5 hours by barge east of Auckland. To get your order off the island, we work with Barrier Air, the official airline of Island Gin, or ship via Sealink. Once your parcel reaches Auckland, NZ Post Couriers take over to deliver across New Zealand.

As we are at the mercy of the elements, adverse weather conditions may occasionally delay dispatch. If this happens, we’ll do our best to keep you informed and appreciate your patience as we navigate the logistics of island life.

TRACKING YOUR ORDER
Once your order has left the island, you’ll receive a tracking link via email. If you haven’t received this, please reach out to us at hello@islandgin.com, and we’ll be happy to assist.

SIGNATURE REQUIRED
As a premium spirit, Island Gin must be signed for upon delivery. If no one is available, the courier will leave a ‘Calling Card’ with details on how to arrange redelivery or collection.

DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES
At Island Gin we aim to process and dispatch orders within 1–2 business days. While we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates, typical timeframes from the moment your order reaches Auckland are:

  • Auckland (central): 2-3 business days

  • North Island city centres: 2–4 business days

  • South Island city centres: 2–4 business days

  • Rural deliveries: Please allow an additional 1–2 business days

Due to the nature of inter-island shipping, unexpected delays may occur. We appreciate your understanding and will always do our best to get your order to you as swiftly as possible.

CHANGES AFTER DISPATCH
Once your order has been dispatched, we are unable to change delivery details, including recipient name or address. Please double-check all information before placing your order, and we strongly recommend providing a contact number to assist with any courier queries.

PROPERTY ACCESS & PO BOXES
We regret that we cannot deliver to PO Boxes. Please ensure that the delivery address is accessible, as we are unable to complete deliveries to locations with restricted access, such as locked gates or unstaffed apartment receptions.

RURAL DELIVERIES
For rural addresses, a signature may not be obtainable. If your tracking status shows ‘Delivered,’ this typically means the parcel has been handed to a rural courier driver and may take an additional 1–2 business days to reach its final destination.
